Day 1 : ARRIVAL COCHIN AND PROCEED TO MUNNAR VIA ATHIRAPALLY WATERFALLS AFTER VISITING COCHIN
On arrival to Cochin Railway / Airport our representative will greet you and pick you up & proceed for Cochin sightseeing.
Cochin- A historic town brimming with tales of Portuguese, Dutch and British settlements. Located just 10 kms from Kochi. There are historical monuments, which a walk through the streets can give a glimpse of the area. The nostalgic feeling one gets when cycling or talking a brisk walk through the colonial type architecture gives one a feeling of how this small fishing village became the major attraction of these colonial countries.Some of the places to Visit are Fort Kochi, Chinese Fishing Nets, Mattanchery, Santa Cruz Cathedral Basilica, Dutch Palace, Jew Street, Jewish Synagogue, St.Francis Church, Marine Drive.
After cochin sightseeing proceed for Munnar Enroute visit Athirapally waterfalls.Athirapally known for its waterfalls is the largest waterfalls in Kerala cascading from 80 feet. Your resort in Athirappaly is perched amid the Sholayar ranges of virgin rainforest. You can certainly spot a good number of animals and birds of tropical forest. The beautiful falls at Athirapally is Kerala’s favorite picnic spot. After then proceed to Munnar
Munnar:- A picturesque hill station with an elevation of 5000 to 8000 feet from sea level, which is a must see destination in the tourism mapThe land belonged to the Royal Family and was leased for cultivation and the transformation of the land started. The forests land was converted into farmlands. Tea was the most suitable crop and Tea estates sprang up.
Munnar - Situated at the confluence of three mountain streams - Mudrapuzha, Nallathanni and Kundale, Munnar is situated 1600 Meter above sea level. Once the summer resort of erstwhile British Government in South India and the best hill station with sprawling tea plantations in the state. Blessed with a rich variety of flora and fauna with the most well known Neelakurinji flowering once in 12 yearsOn the way to Munnar you will be stopped to enjoy the white spray of water from the beautiful waterfalls of Cheeyappara & Valara. Day 2 : MUNNAR SIGHTSEEING AND STAY
After breakfast proceed for local sightseeing of Munnar where you can visit Mattupetty Dam, Echo Point, Tea Plantation,(closed on Monday), Eravikulam National Park (Closed during breeding season),Echo point,Photoshooting point. Munnar is also famous for Ayurveda Treatment and Massaging.Qualified physicians at the Ayurvedic treatment Centres provide a range of cures and treatments including sweat treatments, oil massages, yoga and meditation, Head, Face, Shoulder & Full Body massage at reasonable rates across Munnar. Back to Hotel and overnight stay at Munnar
Day 3 : THEKADY SIGHTSEEING AND STAY
After breakfast check out from the hotel and drive to Thekkady. Situated within the confines of the Western Ghats in the southern Indian state of Kerala, Periyar National Park and Tiger Reserve is one of the most captivating wildlife parks in the world.This perennial source of water, which initially led to the submersion of large tracts of forestland, slowly attracted wild animals. It eventually resulted in the adjoining forests being granted protection. The vegetation is of moist deciduous type. Arrive at Thekkady and check in to the hotel.You are at leisure on this day to enjoy various activities at Thekkady. Activities available are – boating on periyar lake, spice plantation visit, Elephant safari, agricultural farm tour & sightseeing, nature walk, adventure trekking & camping, border hiking, bamboo rafting, jungle jeep safari, Kalaripayattu – the traditional martial art performance & Tribal art performance(Own cost) also visit the famous Periyar wildlife sanctuary. Overnight stay at Thekkady.
Day 4 : ALLAPPEY HOUSEBOAT STAY
Check out from the resort and drive to Alleppey. Allappey :-Located on the other side of the Vembanad lake, lies this beautiful town otherwise called as the Venice of The East. Coir making is a major cottage industry in the region. The sun-dried fibres are then bundled into bales and later machine twisted to make ropes. Various other products like coir mattress, coir curtains, coir doormats, etc..
Arrive at Alleppey and board the houseboat at noon for a backwater cruise .While cruising in these floating luxury- villas, let your eyes settle for the rare and the unusual - skim past Chinese fishing nets, bowed- down paddy fields, and local inhabitants engaged in making coir products, rustic homes, and ancient temples and swaying coconut groves. Overnight stay in houseboat.
Day 5 : VISIT JATAYU NATURE PARK AND KOVALAM STAY
Morning check out from resort and proceed to Kovalam. En route visit Jatayu Nature Park, the new born travel destination of Kerala.(Optional Tour, Entry Fees own cost) This park has been named after the mythical bird, Jatayu, who attempted to rescue Sita from Ravana. It is believed to be built on the exact spot where Jatayu fell post his fight with Ravana. Reach Jatayu and go to the top of Bird Sculpture, the world’s largest bird sculpture, in Cable Car (own cost) . Also visit Rama Temple which is built just near to the Jatayu bird sculpture. Spend some time enjoying at the Park. After enjoying Jatayu proceed to Kovalam.
Kovalam is breathtakingly beautiful beach and a haven of peace and tranquility, the idyllic tourist destination in Kerala. Kovalam offers an excellent diversity with Kovalam beach to suit all desires and occasions. Kovalam has three beaches, Samudra Beach, Sankumukam Beach & Lighthouse Beach, separated by rocky outcroppings in its 17 km coastline, the three together form the famous crescent of the Kovalam beach. Light House beach is the most famous among them for its calmness and any age group person can swim in there without any fear! You can do Water Sports activities like Scuba Diving, Snorkelling, Parasailing, Wind Surfing, Kayaking at Kovalam (own Cost). Day 6 : DEPART FROM TRIVANDRUM
After a hearty breakfast check out from Hotel and proceed to Trivandrum Airport. En route do local sightseeing of Trivandrum. Thiruvananthapuram, commonly known by its former name Trivandrum, is the capital of the Indian state of Kerala. It is the most populous city in Kerala, located on the west coast of India near the extreme south of the mainland. Thiruvananthapuram referred to by Mahatma Gandhi as the "Evergreen city of India". Local tour of Trivandrum includes Sri Padmanabhaswami Temple, Trivandrum Zoo, Kuthiramalika Palace & Museum.By evening according to your Flight/Train timming we will drop you at airport/railway station.
