Day 1 : ARRIVE AT COCHIN AND PROCEED TO MUNNAR & STAY
On arrival at Cochin airport, after you have cleared your immigration and customs formalities, our representative will meet you and will transfer you to Munnar.
Munnar - Situated at the confluence of three mountain streams - Mudrapuzha, Nallathanni and Kundale, Munnar is situated 1600 Meter above sea level. Once the summer resort of erstwhile British Government in South India and the best hill station with sprawling tea plantations in the state. Blessed with a rich variety of flora and fauna with the most well known Neelakurinji flowering once in 12 yearsOn the way to Munnar you will be stopped to enjoy the white spray of water from the beautiful waterfalls of Cheeyappara & Valara. Day 2 : MUNNAR SIGHTSEEING & STAY
After breakfast proceed for local sightseeing of Munnar where you can visit Mattupetty Dam, Echo Point, Tea Plantation,(closed on Monday), Eravikulam National Park (Closed during breeding season),Echo point, Photoshooting point. Munnar is also famous for Ayurveda Treatment and Massaging.Qualified physicians at the Ayurvedic treatment Centres provide a range of cures and treatments including sweat treatments, oil massages, yoga and meditation, Head, Face, Shoulder & Full Body massage at reasonable rates across Munnar. Day 3 : THEKADY SIGHTSEEING & STAY
After breakfast check out from the hotel and drive to Thekkady. Situated within the confines of the Western Ghats in the southern Indian state of Kerala, Periyar National Park and Tiger Reserve is one of the most captivating wildlife parks in the world.This perennial source of water, which initially led to the submersion of large tracts of forestland, slowly attracted wild animals. It eventually resulted in the adjoining forests being granted protection. The vegetation is of moist deciduous type. Arrive at Thekkady and check in to the hotel.You are at leisure on this day to enjoy various activities at Thekkady. Activities available are – boating on periyar lake, spice plantation visit, Elephant safari, agricultural farm tour & sightseeing, nature walk, adventure trekking & camping, border hiking, bamboo rafting, jungle jeep safari, Kalaripayattu – the traditional martial art performance & Tribal art performance(Own cost) also visit the famous Periyar wildlife sanctuary. Overnight stay at Thekkady.
Day 4 : MADURAI SIGHTSEEING AND STAY
Check out from the hotel after a hearty breakfast and proceed to Madurai. Reach and check in to hotel and later proceed for Madurai sightseeing. Madurai:- Highly significant with its cultural and historical background, the city has tourist attractions in plenty, the most prominent among them being The Meenakshi Temple with its towering gopurams and rare sculptures. Other important attractions include Thirumalai Naicker Palace, Koodal Azhagar Temple and the Gandhi Museum. Late evening witness the vibrant and colorful Pooja ceremony at Meenakshi Temple. Overnight stay at Madurai.
Day 5 : RAMESWARAM SIGHTSEEING AND STAY
After a hearty breakfast check out from the hotel and proceed to Rameswaram. Reach and check in to hotel. Later proceed for Rameswaram sightseeing. In the Hindu mythology Rameshwaram is considered a sacred place for the Hindus. Legends have it that Lord Rama built a bridge across the sea, from Rameshwaram, to rescue his consort Sita, from the clutches of the demon king, Ravana. Rameshwaram is known as the Varanasi of south India. Visit the historic places such as, Agnitheertham, Dhanushkodi and Pamban Bridge. Dhanushkodi is an abandoned town at the south-eastern tip of Pamban Island of the state of Tamil Nadu in India. It is situated to the South-East of Pamban and is about 18 miles (29 km) west of Talaimannar in Sri Lanka. The town was destroyed during the 1964 Rameswaram cyclone and remains uninhabited in the aftermath! Return to Hotel and overnight stay at Rameswaram.
Day 6 : KANYAKUMARI SIGHTSEEING AND STAY
Morning after breakfast, check out from the hotel and proceed to Kanyakumari.
Kanyakumari:- The only beach in the world where you can see the sunrise and sunset at the same point. It is Blessed by the Indian Ocean, Arabian Sea and Bay of Bengal. The Vivekananda Rock Memorial is situated 100 meters from the shore. Ferry services are available on a regular basis to the Rock and there are two main structures Vivekananda and the Shripada Mandapam. There is a massive 133 feet statue of Saint Poet Thiruvalluvoor who is considered as one of the greatest Tamil poets in India.
You will be visiting Amman Temple dedicated to the Goddess Parvati, the Gandhi Memorial where an urn containing the Mahatma's ashes are kept, the Vivekananda Memorial(own cost for boat) - built in memory of Swami Vivekananda exuding a calm and peace rarely found elsewhere and the Church of our Lady Ransom starkly etched against the beautiful shoreline. Some of the other places to visit are Wax Museum. Overnight stay at Kanyakumari after a hearty Dinner.
Day 7 : KANYAKUMARI TO KOVALAM AFTER TRIVANDRUM CITY TOUR
Morning watch georgous Sun Rise and after breakfast check out from hotel and proceed to Kovalam. En route will take you for Trivandrum for local city tour.
Thiruvananthapuram literally means 'the abode of Anantha', the snake God. The main attraction of the city is the Sri Padmanabhaswamy Temple dedicated to Vishnu (also known as Padmanabha) reclining on the snake Anantha. The imposing gopuram (gateway tower) and intricate sculptures of the temple make it a very popular tourist attraction. Later visit Napier Museum, an art and natural history museum which houses a collection of archaeological and historic artifacts, bronze idols, ancient ornaments, a temple chariot and ivory carvings. Sri Chitra Art Gallery (Closed on Mondays & Wednesday forenoons) displays the original paintings of Raja Ravi Varma which houses a collection of paintings from the Rajput, Mughal and Thanjore schools. The collection also includes unique copies of Indian mural paintings from pre-historic times down to the 18th century. Also visit Trivandrum Zoo. By evening proceed to Kovalam.Kovalam offers an excellent diversity with Kovalam beach to suit all desires and occasions. Kovalam has three beaches, Samudra Beach, Sankumukam Beach & Lighthouse Beach, separated by rocky outcroppings in its 17 km coastline, the three together form the famous crescent of the Kovalam beach. Light House beach is the most famous among them for its calmness and any age group person can swim in there without any fear! Also there is option to enjoy own cost Water Sports activities in Kovalam beach like Snorkelling, Parasailing, Wind Surfing etc. Back to hotel and overnight stay.
Day 8 : DEPART FROM TRIVANDRUM
After a hearty breakfast check out from the hotel and proceed to Trivandrum Airport. Do local shopping at Trivandrum if time permits. Later will dop at airport & board your flight back with sweet memories of your holidays in Kerala & Tamilnadu!
