Day 1 : ARRIVAL COCHIN AND STAY
After arriving at Cochin airport (Assistance on arrival) Cochin, the commercial capital and most cosmopolitan city of Kerala, Cochin in Ernakulam is also known as “Queen of Arabian Sea” is one of the finest natural harbors in the World. This was one of the major centers for commerce and trade with British, Chinese, Portuguese, and Dutch etc.
Later check into hotel and go for local sightseeing of Cochin where you can visit Fort Kochi, Chinese Fishing Nets, Mattanchery, Sata Cruz Cathedral Basilica, Dutch Palace, Jew Street, Jewish Synagogue, St.Francis Church, Marine Drive. Evening back to hotel. Overnight stay at hotel.
Day 2 : COCHIN TO MUNNAR VIA ATHIRAPALLY WATERFALLS
After having delightfull breakfast from Cochin hotel check out and Proceed to Munnar. En routet to Munnar Visit Athirappilly Waterfalls,
Athirappilly Waterfalls-which is one of the best places to visit in Kerala. Athirappilly Falls is a famous waterfall in Kerala, a part of Chalakudy River and it is approximately 80 feet in height. Its white spray of water appears almost magical from the rocky road that swerves around the mountain! Spend precious time at waterall and later proceed to Munnar
Enroute to Munnar visit the beautiful Cheeyapara & Valara waterfalls. Enjoy the breathtaking and glorious waterfall cascade down the seven steps. Arrive at Munnar and check in to the resort. Munnar - Situated at the confluence of three mountain streams - Mudrapuzha, Nallathanni and Kundale, Munnar is situated 1600 Meter above sea level. Once the summer resort of erstwhile British Government in South India and the best hill station with sprawling tea plantations in the state. Blessed with a rich variety of flora and fauna with the most well known Neelakurinji (botanical name: Strobilanthus) flowering once in 12 years. Balance of the day you are at leisure to enjoy on your own also you will be later taken to visit Tata Tea Museum & The Blossom Garden. Back to Hotel by evening and Overnight Stay at Munnar.
Day 3 : MUNNAR SIGHTSEEING AND STAY
After breakfast proceed for local sightseeing of Munnar where you can visit Mattupetty Dam, Echo Point, Tea Plantation,(closed on Monday), Eravikulam National Park (Closed during breeding season),Echo point,Photoshooting point. Munnar is also famous for Ayurveda Treatment and Massaging.Qualified physicians at the Ayurvedic treatment Centres provide a range of cures and treatments including sweat treatments, oil massages, yoga and meditation, Head, Face, Shoulder & Full Body massage at reasonable rates across Munnar. Day 4 : THEKADY SIGHTSEEING AND STAY
Proceed to Thekkady in the morning after the breakfast; Thekkady. Situated within the confines of the Western Ghats in the southern Indian state of Kerala, Periyar National Park and Tiger Reserve is one of the most captivating wildlife parks in the world.This perennial source of water, which initially led to the submersion of large tracts of forestland, slowly attracted wild animals. It eventually resulted in the adjoining forests being granted protection. The vegetation is of moist deciduous type. Arrive at Thekkady and check in to the hotel.You are at leisure on this day to enjoy various activities at Thekkady. Activities available are – boating on periyar lake, spice plantation visit, Elephant safari, agricultural farm tour & sightseeing, nature walk, adventure trekking & camping, border hiking, bamboo rafting, jungle jeep safari, Kalaripayattu – the traditional martial art performance & Tribal art performance(Own cost) also visit the famous Periyar wildlife sanctuary. Overnight stay at Thekkady.
Day 5 : MADURAI SIGHTSEEING AND MADURAI STAY
After having delightfull breakfast at Thekady hotel check out and proceed to Madurai.
Madurai:- Highly significant with its cultural and historical background, the city has tourist attractions in plenty, the most prominent among them being The Meenakshi Temple with its towering gopurams and rare sculptures. Other important attractions include Thirumalai Naicker Palace, Koodal Azhagar Temple and the Gandhi Museum.Back to hotel and overnight stay at Madurai
Day 6 : RAMESWARAM SIGHTSEEING AND STAY
start your day with a sightseeing tour of Rameswaram. The holy island is considered as one of the four most sacred Hindu pilgrim centers have the most visited Shiva shrines, dedicated to Sri Ramanathaswamy. Associated with the life of Sri Rama, the hero of the epic Ramayana, that both Saivites and Vaishnavites visit Rameswaram with devotion. The Ramanathaswamy temple here has the world’s longest corridor. Rameswararm, also hailed as “Benaras of the South”. Devipattinam is a coastal village in Ramanathapuram district where you can visit the Navagrahas installed inside the sea as 09 pillars. Pilgrims aspire for a holy dip at the sea at Dhanushkodi, revered as Sethu Theertha where Mahodathi (Bay of Bengal) meets Ratnakara (India Ocean).(To travel to Dhanushkodi, need to use four wheel drive jeep / tempos since you have to travel on beach sand). You can also visit other attractions like Agnitheertham & Pamban Bridge Overnight stay at Rameswaram.
Day 7 : KANYAKUMARI SIGHTSEEING AND STAY
Morning after breakfast, check out from the hotel and proceed to Kanyakumari.
Kanyakumari, literally means the virgin, the cape owes its Indian name to Hindu mythology. Arrive at Kanyakumari and proceed for a sightseeing tour. At the Cape Comorin - the southernmost tip in the sub-continent, the three mighty oceans viz. the Bay of Bengal, the Indian Ocean and the Arabian Sea meet. Significant landmarks include the Kumari Amman Temple dedicated to the Goddess Parvati, the Gandhi Memorial where an urn containing the Mahatma's ashes are kept, the Vivekananda Memorial - built in memory of Swami Vivekananda exuding a calm and peace rarely found elsewhere and the Church of our Lady Ransom starkly etched against the beautiful shoreline.Overnight stay at Kanyakumari.
Day 8 : POOVAR ISLAND STAY
Morning watch Sunrise and after a hearty breakfast check out from the hotel and proceed to Poovar Island . Poovar is a small coastal, fisherman village about 60Km from Kanyakumari. This is a beautiful island which is surrounded by River called Neyyar. During heavy monsoon the river carry sand and mud and an Estuary is formed which become the present form of Poovar. The river, which ends it flow at Arabian Sea, become wider and it appears to be a lake! Here River, Sea & Lake lies so close to each other and Lake and Sea Merges just in front of us! Watching Sun Set around 4.30 – 5Pm will surely be one of the most exciting experience in the whole tour! Enjoy boating in the beautiful Poovar Lake through the Mago Groves and Kandal Trees. Day 9 : POOVAR TO KOVALAM ENROUTE TRIVANDRUM CITY TOUR
Enjoy a hearty breakfast in Poovar Island & proceed to Trivandrum En route do local tour of Trivandrum City. Thiruvananthapuram, commonly known by its former name Trivandrum, is the capital of the Indian state of Kerala. It is the most populous city in Kerala, located on the west coast of India near the extreme south of the mainland. Thiruvananthapuram referred to by Mahatma Gandhi as the "Evergreen city of India". Local tour of Trivandrum includes Sri Padmanabhaswami Temple, Trivandrum Zoo, Kuthiramalika Palace & Museum.
After the city tour we will take back to Kovalam. Explore Kovalam! Kovalam is breathtakingly beautiful and a haven of peace and tranquility, the idyllic tourist destination in Kerala. Kovalam offers an excellent diversity with Kovalam beach to suit all desires and occasions. Kovalam has three beaches, Samudra Beach, Sankumukam Beach & Lighthouse Beach, separated by rocky outcroppings in its 17 km coastline, the three together form the famous crescent of the Kovalam beach. Light House beach is the most famous among them for its calmness and any age group person can swim in there without any fear! Back to hotel and overnight stay.
Day 10 : EXPLORE KOVALAM
The day is set for complete relaxation at Kovalam beach and beach side activities. Kovalam is breathtakingly beautiful and a haven of peace and tranquility, the idyllic tourist destination in Kerala. Kovalam offers an excellent diversity with Kovalam beach to suit all desires and occasions. Kovalam has three beaches, Samudra Beach, Sankumukam Beach & Lighthouse Beach, separated by rocky outcroppings in its 17 km coastline, the three together form the famous crescent of the Kovalam beach. Light House beach is the most famous among them for its calmness and any age group person can swim in there without any fear! Day 11 : ALLAPPEY HOUSEBOAT STAY
After breakfast ,Check out from the resort and drive to Alleppey.
Allappey :-Located on the other side of the Vembanad lake, lies this beautiful town otherwise called as the Venice of The East. Coir making is a major cottage industry in the region. The sun-dried fibres are then bundled into bales and later machine twisted to make ropes. Various other products like coir mattress, coir curtains, coir doormats, etc..Arrive at Alleppey and board the houseboat at noon for a backwater cruise .While cruising in these floating luxury- villas, let your eyes settle for the rare and the unusual - skim past Chinese fishing nets, bowed- down paddy fields, and local inhabitants engaged in making coir products, rustic homes, and ancient temples and swaying coconut groves. Overnight stay in houseboat.
Day 12 : ALLAPPEY TO KUMARAKOM ENROUTE VISIT JATAYU NATURE PARK
In the morning after breakfast 9AM sharp proceed toKumarakom. En route visit Jtayu Earth’s Center, the new born travel destination of Kerala. This park has been named after the mythical bird, Jatayu, who attempted to rescue Sita from Ravana. It is believed to be built on the exact spot where Jatayu fell post his fight with Ravana. Reach Jatayu and go to the top of Bird Sculpture, the world’s largest bird sculpture, in Cable Car . Also visit Rama Temple which is built just near to the Jatayu bird sculpture. Spend some time enjoying at the Park and leave for Kumarakom.
Day 13 : DEPART FROM COCHIN
This is the last day of your trip in God’s Own Country! After a hearty breakfast check out from the Houseboat around 9AM and proceed to Cochin International Ariport. En route to airport we will take you to Lullu Mall, Asia’s Largest Shopping Mall if time permits. Do shopping at at Lulu Mall for 1 – 2 Hours and as per your flight timing will dop at airport.
